I have attached a checklist for those that are interested in what work will be looked at this week.
A question was asked this week about when I return an assignment in Teams.
- The assignment is considered complete if there is no follow up question in the feedback box.
- Many students are turning in the assignment, but not attaching the work needed. I would like to see the evidence of the work. Sometimes that means filling out a word document and attaching it to the assignment. Sometimes that means just acknowledging that you have finished.
- If I Return the assignment without a questions about the work, then it would be considered complete. Always check the Feedback.
- If there is more to do on the assignment, resubmit the work so I can see your evidence of the work.
- Keep in mind: this is a difficult way to assess what you are learning, so being as elaborate in your work as you can really conveys the thinking you are doing around the lessons you are working through.
Zearn continues to be our math program, and I am concerned with many students progress. It is expected that each student spend 30 minutes per day on Zearn working through the assigned work. This would be 150 minutes per week. I am not seeing the progress through the program that I would expect to see after 4 weeks. Some students have only made it through a couple of lessons in 4 weeks. As much as I want to trust students to self-monitor and self-motivate, they sometimes need more support than they are actually telling you. Please reach out if there are activities that are difficult. I am available to help students who need to have more support. I am more than happy to have a small group meeting to help with the math.
