Have you seen the Waxing Moon?
We have been learning about the Sun, Moon and Earth this week. The students have the assignment to be moon gazing, and recording what they can see. We have see the moon change from the waxing crescent over the last few nights to the first quarter tonight. Did you see it? I walked out of Carnation Elementary at 4:45 and the moon was big and bright in the southeastern sky. I expect we will see the Waxing gibbous turning into the full moon over the next week.
Ask your student about the orbit, revolution, rotation simulation we did today in class. We also created a model of how big the sun is in comparison to the Earth. They should also be able to tell you about the gravity experiment we did today.
Learning about Astronomy is FUN!
