Mrs. Panesko's 5th Grade Class

Learning in order to Keep Moving Forward.

Field Trip Tomorrow

October9

We will be heading to the Seattle Children’s Theater tomorrow, October 10, to watch their presentation of “Dogman.”

Please remember we need to dress weather appropriate, due to the fact it is likely to rain.

Please remember to send your student with a lunch unless they have asked to purchased a school lunch.

We are looking for at least one more chaperone because unfortunately, two of our chaperones had something come up at the last minute and is not able to make it. You must be an approved volunteer with the district to be able to join us.

Thanks! It should be a fun day!

Second Step Begins

September29

We began our Second Step lessons today. Unit 1 is about Goal Setting.

Summary

In this week’s lesson, your child will learn how to set a goal that’s right for them. A goal that’s right for someone is specific, challenging, doable, and motivating.

Try This at Home

Ask your child what their goal is and how they know it’s right for them. Encourage them to describe why it’s motivating to them. Talk to your child about a goal you reached in the past and why you chose that goal.

September26

The fourth and fifth grade will be attending the production of “Dogman” at the Seattle Children’s Theatre on Tuesday, October 10. A few of the families still need to return their permission slips and make sure to pay for the play via e-funds or cash or check to Carnation Elementary.

All of our chaperone slots have been filled.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Returning Student Survey

May24

Hello Carnation Families!

As we begin planning for the 2023-24 school year, it would be helpful for us to have an idea of who will be returning next year.  Please take a moment to complete the survey by using either the link below or the attached QR code.  The survey will remain open until Friday, June 2nd at 8:00 p.m.

We appreciate your assistance with this.

Warmly,

Terri Bookey
